V-Chords had the pleasure of participating in what has become an annual event in Vancouver, Washington at Evergreen High School on the 29th of January, 2010.  Who would have thought that a room full of boys/men, spanning from Junior High to post college and beyond could be entertained for three hours by nothing but the music they would provide for each other.  It was exciting to go back and experience all different stages of music from basic melody to complex harmonies created by all male vocal groups.  We found a lot of inspiration in the excitement shown by all of these young men and look forward to working with Evergreen High School and other schools in the Vancouver area in the future.  If your school would like to have V-Chords A Cappella work with you on a music program fundraiser, send us a note.

We got to perform the national anthem at the Rose Garden for the Blazers first game of the new year.  Amazing crowd and a great game too!  We hope to post a video on our facebook page soon so make sure to add us as a friend.

Oregon folks sure know how to party!  We had the chance to entertain at a gathering of some great people on a boat dock in Lake Oswego last month.  If you know anyone who is looking for the perfect musical entertainment for a fun-filled evening, tell them about V-Chords, Portland musicians without all that ocal.

We had the opportunity to open for The Coats this past Thursday at Shute Park in Hillsboro, Oregon. It was great to perform with them again. Those guys are amazing musicians but are also really cool people. It was lots of fun sharing the huge crowd of local screaming a cappella fans with them. The Coats are touring all over the Northwest this summer. If you have the chance, you’ll want to try and catch them.

The Northwest A Cappella scene has been thriving over the past few years including the local collegiate a cappella ensembles and pop a cappella bands. We’ve got some great new groups as well as some of the staples of modern a cappella like The Coats and M-Pact. In order to help a cappella fans who live here or are just passing through the Great Northwest find an amazing vocal performance we’d like to get a Northwest A Cappella Calendar started. We may even throw in a Northwest A Cappella Forum. Please send in any upcoming a cappella shows you’d like listed on the calendar. Thanks for supporting local a cappella music!

We had an amazing time at the Harmony Sweeps this past weekend! Thanks to Gary Witley and MCE for all they do to make it a success, a huge thank you to The Coats for hosting and making it a night to remember and congratulations to Baudboys on their 1st place finish! All the groups were great as always. V-Chords and Vocalocity tied for 2nd place with Rezonate taking 3rd as well as best original arrangement.
